AOS designs and manufactures tactical fiber optic connectors and assemblies that conform to the emerging MIL-DTL-83526/16 PLUG, MIL-DTL-83526/17 JAM NUT Receptacle housing dimensions but feature a 6CH interface compared with the 4CH MIL SPEC version. The adaptation of the TFOCA/16 PLUG, TFOCA/17 JAM NUT RECEPTACLE, TFOCA/18 FLANGE RECEPTACLE major components to a higher density connector family using a MIL-PRF-29504/14 pin termini enables customers to add two additional fiber optic channels with the added insurance of knowing that both connector components (TFOCA/16, TFOCA/17, TFOCA/18) as well as the applicable M29504/14 Pin termini are designed to the highest level of performance through application of qualified components and process. This design uses only MIL qualified or COTS MIL-PRE-29504/14 Pin termini and features a standard 2.0mm ceramic split sleeve held captive within a removable insert cap. A tethered Hermaphroditic Dust Cap is standard on the plug and attachable female Dust Cap standard with the receptacle. These style fiber optic connectors can only be sold to the United States Government or to contractors servicing the United States Government.
