FIBER OPTIC USED TO MONITOR SUB STATIONS
Fiber optics plays a key role in the control and monitor of utility substations. Fiber optic are not subject to electrical impulse such as spikes of transients and do not fail from lightening strikes. Fiber optic assemblies enable utilities to monitor or acquire large amounts of data with the assurance that high voltage conditions will not affect the quality of the data. Since these networks are typically fixed, pre-terminated F-LINK, DTL-38999 of simplex (ST,FC,SC) connector assemblies with rugged indoor/outdoor cable can deliver system availability while ensuring commercial and security systems remain available through the quick disconnect and re-connect that occurs through multi-channel connector systems. F-LINK HYBIRD assemblies can also be used to supply power to remote cameras in isolated areas.
