  FIBER OPTIC USED IN TURBINE SENSING  
    Steam turbines utilize fiber optic connectivity to monitor and sense changing conditions within the steam turbine itself. For these applications, wider mode field diameter cable is used to as a light guide for timing and RPM information. The connectors that support this harsh environmental application withstand pressures of up to150psi and function within a operational temperatures of 100°C+. These fiber optic systems are based on MIL-PRF-28876 stainless steal connectors and use M29504 style termini capable of establish a pressure seal of several hundred pounds of stream pressure..
