HIGH SPEED VIDEO INFORMATION OVER FIBER OPTIC
Recent concerns about the Space Shuttle have prompted engineers and scientist to closely monitor the condition of the Shuttle during launch. For this application high speed ruggedized video cameras are stationed as close to the shuttle as possible to record the entire launch, until the shuttle is in space. These high quality video cameras can support up to 16 separate channels and require single mode fiber optic to transmit video information. Single mode quality TFOCA and Hermaphroditic connector assemblies along with tactical deployable fiber cable, are deployed to each camera, in order to record video events as they occur and have been successfully used to enable this application.
