  FUTURE COMBAT SYSTEMS CENTRAL COMMAND
Electronic Battle Fields represent a new frontier for the warrior and represent a significant feature of the Future Combat Systems (FCS) currently in development. Based a broad array of battlefield sensors (UAV, Satellite, JLENS, etc), the war fighter can “see first, react first” to changing conditions. The network of networks is based on GIGe fiber optic platforms using Internet Protocol to transport voice, video and data. Fiber connectivity within shelters is typically managed through cylindrical multi-channel connectors such as MIL-DTL-38999 or MIL-PRF-28876. Fiber optic connectivity between shelters is enabled by Tactical Fiber Optic Connector Assemblies (TFOCA) using MIL-DTL-83526 Hermaphroditic connectors and MIL-PRF-85045 tactical fiber optic cable and available in 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 channel configurations.
