AVIONICS USING FIBER OPTIC APPLICATIONS |
| |
Commercial Aerospace continues to advance with sophisticated avionics and in-flight entertainment/communication systems and services. Many newer avionic systems have graduated from copper to fiber optics as the technology continues to migrate toward high bandwidth applications. Additionally, entertainment systems deliver “on-demand” services to the passenger seat through multiplexed services over fiber optics. MIL-DTL-D38999 cable harnesses have provided the majority of fiber optic backbones using legacy MIL-PRF-29504/4 PINs and MIL-PRF-29504/5 SOCKETs. However, next generation systems are utilizing the high performance and package density of LuxCis termini and Enhanced D38999 connectors and assemblies. ARINC style connectors are also graduating from legacy MIL legacy MIL-PRF-29504/6 PINs and MIL-PRF-29504/7 SOCKETs to LuxCis termini in MPX rectangular style connectors. AOS can supply any combination of fiber optic requirements through legacy or next generation LuxCis fiber optic assemblies. |
